WIP: Iron Warriors Breachers update Part 2.

Hi guys well I've finally started getting some paint on my much loved breachers.

The effort put in to get twenty marines to this stage is thankless as what your left with at base coat stage is just that base coated miniatures....so much time and graft put in but hey the hard work is over and soon time for the fun stuff.

Anyhow borderline whinge over I'll get on, I may have in a bid to speed things up shot myself in the foot, I usually leave off the helmets, pads and guns to paint separate to the main torso but with the breachers having shields as well I thought in my wisdom why not glue the pads and helmets leaving just the shields and guns...don't want too many separate components after all plus it will be quicker right, Well guys I'm now thinking I should of left the pads off because its going to be difficult getting the gold paint in there, Well I'll see and you live and learn.

Also started on their bases, I've built and primed 21, Yeah I only need twenty for the two squads but it's a bakers dozen kind of  thing which I thought would be prudent after the debacle with the Volkite squad bases, Don't ask.

Bit of a pain as I wanted to crack on on with the bases today then realised I was out of the darkest grey I needed so I started the first stages of tarnishing the metal on my breachers, This is a slow process but one that I've found quite effective for the look I'm after.

Check the front three marines for the colour change, So then three down only seventeen more to go before I start on the second stage of washes.

That's it for now, Happy painting.

WIP: IW's Breachers Part 1..

Hi guys, Well its been a while but I feel I'm finally back in the grove.

I was up late last night building these little fellas (past 12 on a school nite tut tut), Really enjoyed these minis hardly had any mould lines on them, I'm leaving off the shields and guns to paint separate as i think it will be easier that way.

I've built two squads of ten, First squad with a power fist and two Melta-guns the second with two flamers and a Combi-flamer.

So that's it for now, I still have some Tac's to finish for a complete squad of 15 and i also have a Volkite support squad in the pipe, Happy painting.

SHOWCASE: Iron Warriors Master of Signal.

Hi guys, Well I've finally found the time to sort this little fella out, Seems he's been on the to do pile of months now....as are a shed load of other minis but I'll get to those later.

I'm really liking this kit-bash especially the pose and base, I wasn't keen at first but the twin aerials have grown on me.

I've gone for a underslung bolter even though the miniatures stats dont have the option for one (artistic license) I think it looks the part and I'm happy with it. Again more Army Painter razorwire added to the base...hope I'm not overdoing it I'll maybe ease off with it on the cannon fodder.

A few more pic's.

WIP: Kit-bash, Iron Warriors Master of Signal.

Hi guys, Just a short post but as promised earlier last month here's a photo of the finished Master of Signal kit-bash for my Iron Warriors.

I've used various parts from the Forge world and Games Workshop range of miniatures with a little green stuff for good measure.

I wasn't that sure at first of the little effort atop both aerials but they've grown on me now so I'm keeping them, The most nerve racking part of this build was having to cut both the Master of Signal helmet and the Iron hands torso, which had the helmet attached, in half.

I think the mini has worked out quite well and I like the pose a lot, To my mind I see him with his foot up on some earthworks just about to input vital targeting data for a squadron of Medusa's...Awesome stuff.
